Could be great - if it didn't break down two times. The first one didn't allow the installation of the prongs that hold inside the vent. Both broke off. The same with the second although I applied some oil to make them glide into position. Finally I drilled a small hole into the prongs and attached them with screws. Now they hold.

I ordered this universal mount for my Samsung Vibrant. There aren't many mounting options for my phone since it's still new, but I figured I give this a try. It worked out great. I have it mounted to the air vent in my 2010 Nissan Sentra. I'm able to plug in my aux jack to listen to my music, or use the navigation feature without having to actually hold the phone in hand. It also fits easily with the silicone cover I have on my phone. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is beacuse it very minimally wiggles once installed. But, it's a universal mount, so I'm not surprised it's not the "perfect fit." Either way, it doesn't take away at all from the ultimate purpose of the product. I'd recommend this universal mount to anyone with a smartphone

I've used several types of mounts for my GPS and have settled on using the air vent type as what works best for me. I've also used several types and found this to be the most accomodating of all the mounts. It will handle a good size GPS along with a small Zune HD or iPod Nano.

Holds my Hero in place and position suprisingly well, even during 'spirited' driving. The volume rocker on my phone is held down by the left grip, but not a big deal (once the phone is in place I just turn the volume back up).

The vent mount works fairly well and is as solid a mount as can be had with an automobile vent. The mechanism that traps the phone ratchets securely and disengages when the button on the side is actuated. It is useful for someone that changes phones or phone cases often because it is not form-factor dependent.
