It is not necessary to purchase this case with GPS. Because there is a simple case from the manufacturer. This case is kind of thick but you can not put window mount in. So you have still 2 pieces when you travel.

I have the Magellan 4700 and I love this case. The 4.7 inch widescreen GPS fits perfectly in this one and I like that the case is hardened so it protects the GPS really well. I am able to take my GPS out and put it in the case and throw it into my laptop bag without worrying about scratchs or dents or damage to the Magellan GPS> Definitely must have case and it is at a good price.
