Any touch screen device is susceptible to screen damage by impacts and scratches. This is a well built product, but it doesn't fit the U73T GPS perfectly. There is a removable, Velcro spacer in the bottom, but the Velcro closure tab is slightly too long without the spacer, and slightly too short with it installed. But this is a minor issue. This padded case is good quality and can save you big bucks by preventing screen damage.
Now, as far as the GPS unit itself goes, STAY AWAY!!! See my review of the U73T.

HI, this Sony GPS is not so good as expected, the most un-convenience is the input address method is outdated and no good. It need to input house number the street name then is city name. It's street name need to be exactly type the letter as the street name itself correctly otherwise it will return you a beep then stopping there while other GPS whose search function is very powerful that even you type two letter mis-spell it still can find out the correct street name let you choice the right one. Next it input city name this is outdated. other GPS the previous GPS that I have was TOM TOM which employ Zip code, not city name. This much more accurate and input less key strike.
Flat panel equipment buy a new manufacturer is much more new function and easy to use than older manufacturer product. Please buy Tom Tom is better than Sony GPS. Hi, Sony product is no good.
