  • Product Description
Ideal for occasional golfers, the SkyCaddie SG1 Golf GPS provides a large, easily readable display of the distance to the green from anywhere on the hole. You'll always know how far you are from the center, front or back of the green, and you'll find that you'll make better club selections, play better golf and save time. It's based on the same advanced technology of the SkyCaddie and thus enjoys the same accuracy and reliability of the SG2, but without some of its more advanced features.

The SkyCaddie is as easy to use as a remote control or cell phone. If all you want are distances to the green, just turn it on and you won't need to touch another button throughout your round. The SG1 automatically advances to the hole you're on and displays the same information you'd find on a sprinkler head, regardless of where you hit your ball.

With an annual SkyPlayer Club Membership Plan (not included with purchase of device), you can easily download thousands of our professionally enabled SkyCourses. Three different levels of memberships are available, based on how many courses you want to store and play. If you do not want a membership and your course is not already available, you can record the front, center and back of each green with your SkyCaddie's quick set-up module, which takes about 10 seconds.

The SG1 has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. A full charge of a depleted battery only takes 3 to 4 hours and typically lasts up to 10 hours of continuous use.

    Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Can I use the SG1 to determine the distance of my shots?
A: Yes. All you need to do is press a button before you hit your shot, and then press the button again at your ball to see the distance of your shot.

Q: How can I see more than front, center, and back of the green on the SG1?
A: Only if you purchase an upgrade to SG2 capability. After you have done this, you will need to download a 4-star, or a 3-star professional SkyCourse to your SkyCaddie. These SkyCourses are available through a SkyPlayer Club membership plan. Some of the 2-star courses may also have more than green target information.

Q: Does the SG1 automatically come with the courses I want?
A: No, but you have two ways to get the courses you want. First, the SG1 includes a special feature to make it very easy (less than 10 seconds on the green of each hole) to set up your course to measure distances to the green. SkyCaddie also offers three modestly priced membership plans that offer a number of benefits and access to course information on thousands of professionally mapped courses through

    Comment:
After 3 rounds using the SG1, I was pleased to have this in my bag. It's pretty accurate and it does make club selection easier. But I had some issues with the GPS unit, the mark/lock button stopped working. So I called SkyCaddie the next day and they sent a replacement unit out the same day. I've used SG1 for several rounds and though it's an older model, it still served its purpose. If you don't want to spend too much money for the newer models, try the SG1 before they run out.
