Q: Can the SG5 give me the distance to the pin?
A: The SkyCaddie, using the IntelliGreen graphics found on our professionally recorded SkyCourses, provides more information than just the distance to the pin. Once the line of play is selected on the graphical green outline, it provides the minimum carry to get on the green, the maximum limit you have to the back of the green, plus you can adjust to obtain the third distance of the approximate flag location. All three distances are provided simultaneously from any direction as you approach the green. You can then frame your shot in a much larger target area and select the best club. You will hit more greens and have shorter putts than a single number can provide.

Comment: Skycaddie is too big and it can't compare with newcomers to the market like the uPro. Charging membership fees to have access to 1000's of courses is great for Skycaddie but a waste for the golfer. I play at most 5 different courses. I have a uPro in the mail and that is that. I suggest you consider doing the same.

Comment: Since I've had my Skycaddie SG5 I've been the envy of all my playing partners. The knowledge that I get on distance to the green(front and back) has been the greatest help. It is easy to use and the getting courses added to the unit is easy. It is a great aid in course management, now if it would only carry my bag.

SkyCaddie Customer Service and Product Stink

Just wanted to add to how BAD customer service and care is at Sky Caddie.
I have (though I quit using it 6 months ago) had the SG2 since April 06 and it worked fine for a bout 6 months and then Sky Caddie changed their software and it has been nothing but problems ever since. I, too, was usually on hold for 30-45 minutes and usually got no immediate help from the techs. Twice I had to send my Sky Caddie back!!!! I finally got tired of dealing with such an unprofessional company and am going to try the Garmin model.

Highly recommended. I read the previous comment and can not understand why he had any problems.

This unit is wonderful. Loaded like a charm. The Subscription was about $40 for a year and you can load 10 courses for this rate. There are higher subscription rates if you'd like to have more courses or even international courses. Change courses as often as you like.

This even had the specs for my favorite "remodeled" course which was finished in February. Very up-to-date info.

Accurate! Will measure to the center of the green and will even measure your drive distance. Problem is, when other people on the course see my skycaddie that all want to "play" with it. It can slow down the game.

Customer Service from Skyhawke? What a joke

Why don't they offer a "negative star" rating? One star is too many.

I purchased this SG5 unit. While loading software and drivers, the unit locked up (while loading 3D images), would only turn itself on and off with a grey screen and no buttons worked.

I made three email attempts, a call (on hold 45 minutes) and waited for a on-line customer service chat for another 45 minutes. I have not yet ever talked to or communicated with anyone from Skyhawke.

Apparently I need to be a commentator on the Golf Channel to get assistance.

To Skyhawke...as a member of two private golf clubs, I'm not the guy you want out telling your story.

The unit's on it's way back and a complaint was filed with my credit card provider.
