As a 1-3 times a year hiking couch potato I was delighted to discover so many easy to moderate, max. 4 hour hikes within a reasonable drive from Greater Portland area. I appreciate the detailed directions to the trail head, with difficulty ratings and, and whether one could expect to find facilities nearby - although not essential, definitely always a plus. Now I can't wait for the weather to cool off, bugs to die and rainy summer to be over with, so I can lace my boots and "conquer the rock!"
