Might be OK for low-level jobs, or consolation if it has been a long long search

Comment:
If you think you have tried everything and are still looking after a lengthy search, reading this will help you realize you are not alone. That may be worth the time to read the book. However, I am what this author calls a "hiring authority" -- and if I had someone pull some of these tactics on me, they would be starting at a disadvantage. Instead, I recommend the "Knock 'em Dead" series, where the general tone is more respectful of both the job seeker and the employer.

Great book for your job search!

Comment:
I found this book to be a great reference during my recent job search. I didn't find all of the tips relevant to my job search, likely because I have an advanced degree and therefore things are a little different. For example, he suggests that you set a goal of 5 interviews per week- there are not enough positions for me to do that! However, it did help me a lot with understanding the mentality of the interviewer and appreciate things that they might be looking for. In the end I was able to get a really great job, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a new career.
